There are some members of the expedition, who oppose the policy, and others who support it – there are good arguments for both sides. Of course you´re right, there were – and are – a lot of profound writers around the Non-D’ni, humans, Rivenese, Averonese… Our concern is not about the art itself, but rather the cultural implications the revelation of all this could have on a rural culture like the Yagi. They have no science whatsoever, they technically are like we were in the early iron age. They are quite superstitious, even haven´t developed a writing system yet.
So, what would happen to their culture, if we reveal who we are, and where we come from? Would all this destroy them?

On the other hand, keeping secrets from them, even lying to them isn´t feeling right. They have been very kind and trusting, and what, if they ever find out we weren´t telling them the whole truth? It´s a difficult matter…

Nevertheless, if you want to keep them unaware, it should be a sufficient (and true) explanation to say that you want the toosha to help you carry heavy tools and stone from one place to another.
